Alvin Odegai was born and raised in Nigeria, where he obtained a Bachelors of Science in Zoology from the University of Benin. After moving to the United States in 2000, he studied pre-med at Texas Southern University. He then earned a Bachelors of Science in Nursing through the University of Oklahoma in 2009. After several years of caring for patients in the Harris County Health system, he decided to pursue a Master of Science in nursing specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health. He is board-certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
As a nurse practitioner, Alvin brings a patient-focused and holistic approach to healthcare. His ultimate goal is to take care of patients both physically and mentally, to ensure that they achieve excellent health outcomes. He brings a well-rounded and diverse background with experience in acute, cardiac, trauma, bariatric, orthopedic and intensive care. In his previous role as a locum nurse practitioner, he served patients of diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
When not at work, Alvin enjoys spending time with his lovely wife and their blended family of 6 children. He also enjoys aviation simulations, traveling, and discovering new foods.
