Dr. Deems has over 25 years of experience in the practice of family medicine. While applying the latest advancements in healthcare, he values clear doctor/patient communication as he helps patients to achieve their personal wellness goals. Ultimately, what really drives Dr. Deems on a day to day basis is his desire to provide for those patients whose care he has been entrusted. In this partnership, he hopes to have an impact on lives of others to achieve a longer, happier and healthier outcome.
Although born in Missouri and raised in Arkansas, he has spent his entire adult life as a Texan. Dr. Deems graduated Magna Cum Laude with his undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and a earned his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He completed his residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center where he served as Chief Resident in the St. Paul Family Practice Residency Program. Later, Dr. Deems served as an Associate Professor in the Family Practice Program at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center before he entered private practice in Irving, Texas. Dr. Deems is a diplomat of the American Board of Family Physicians. His professional affiliations include the Dallas County Medical Society, the Texas Medical Association, the Texas Academy of Family Physicians and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Deems is a proud father of two daughters – Rachel and Lauren. He has always enjoyed athletics, both as a spectator and a participant. This has always been a big part of his life. Likewise, maintaining physical fitness is a commitment Dr. Deems takes seriously. When time allows, he has a passion for travel to just about anywhere in the world.
